Job Title: Scrum Master – Azure Data Management

Location: Bryanston, Johannesburg (Hybrid/Flexible)

 

Overview

A leading digital solutions consultancy is seeking an experienced Scrum Master / Technical Team Lead to oversee complex data projects within Azure cloud environments. This role is ideal for a collaborative and confident professional with strong Agile leadership skills and deep experience in data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence (BI) projects. You’ll work with a senior delivery team on strategic client initiatives and help scale delivery capacity as project demand increases.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Facilitate core Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.

 

Drive Agile best practices and ensure the team adheres to Scrum principles.

 

Utilize Atlassian Jira for backlog management, workflow optimization, dashboards, and reporting.

 

Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Engineers, and BI Analysts to define and prioritize backlog items and deliverables.

 

Act as a barrier remover, resolving blockers that hinder sprint progress and delivery.

 

Monitor and report on key Agile metrics, team velocity, and project health.

 

Ensure clear alignment between business goals and technical outcomes, especially for Data Warehouse, Analytics, and BI projects.

 

Coach and mentor team members in Agile practices and Jira utilization.

 

Champion a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence.

 

Required Skills & Experience

 

Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead in Data Warehouse, Analytics, or BI projects.

 

Advanced knowledge of Atlassian Jira, including custom workflows, dashboards, and metrics reporting.

 

Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).

 

Strong track record working with technical teams, especially Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Analysts.

 

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders, including senior executives.

 

Effective facilitation, problem-solving, and coaching skills.

 

Scrum Master certifications (e.g., CSM, PSM) or similar Agile qualifications preferred.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Experience working on Azure-based Data Warehousing solutions.

 

Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

 

Additional Agile or project management certifications are a plus.
